Santa Baby!

Friday Brent took a vacation day from work. We took Jaxson to the mall so he could sit on Santa's lap. He didn't cry at all, he just looked at Santa trying to figure him out.
This was before we left the house...

Santa!

5 Months!

Jaxson, you are 5 months old! Here are some of the things you have been up to this month:

- You eat a 6oz bottle every 3 hours during the day.

- You started eating rice cereal and baby food. You have tried sweet potatoes and bananas and love both.

- You have a few size 2 diapers left and then we are switching to a size 3.

- You are still wearing size 3-6 month clothes.

- Today on your 5 month birthday, you started rolling from your belly to your back. You are a rolling machine. Every time we lay you down on your belly you instantly roll over to your back.

- You got your first ear infection and pink eye this month. - You are still a great sleeper and we hope it always stays that way!

- You are the sweetest little boy and smile all the time. Mommy and Daddy love you very much! Happy 5 months baby!

Jaxson's a big boy!

I put this outfit on Jaxson the other day and I think it makes him look like such a big boy! What happened to that little 5lb 15oz baby?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The weekend after Thanksgiving we put our tree up and decorated the house for Christmas. Brent put the tree together and "fluffed" it and I put the ornaments on. I did make Brent put at least one ornament on so he could say he helped me. I have a tree topper I used last year, but I really don't like it so I'm looking for something new. I have some ideas, I just haven't got around to it yet. Also, I took these pictures before there were presents under the tree. There are now several presents and I plan on wrapping some more tonight. And yes, there is a section at the top that has no lights. This happened after I already had it decorated!! I hate pre-lit trees. We have had problems every year with ours.

I just love our tree. Our colors are black, red, and silver. I usually put a tree in our dining room too, but that's where I keep all of Jaxson's stuff right now. I do plan on putting it up next year though. I love having the whole house feel like Christmas. Next year, I also want to get Jaxson a tree for his room. Maybe I can find the tree and ornaments on sale after Christmas. I know he will be more interested in the tree next year! Although, he does love looking at the lights!

I am almost finished Christmas shopping. I started yesterday and have about 6 or 7 more gifts to buy before I'm done. I think this is the earliest I have ever started shopping! It's actually nice to be ahead for once!

I love Christmas time - the cold weather, driving around looking at lights, spending time with family, good food, giving gifts. It will be here & over before we know it... It always goes by too fast!

Thanksgiving 2010

Well I guess I better post about our Thanksgiving since it's already December! This time of year goes by so fast! I have a hard time keeping everything caught up. Although, I do have my Chrirstmas cards finished early this year, my house is decorated, and my tree is up! I just need to start shopping. I haven't bought one present yet, but I did work on my list last night.

Okay back to Thanksgiving. This year we ate with my side of the family. We were having a late meal, so before we headed to Don & Emmy's house we went to visit with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Betty. Brandee and Ian were in town for the holiday and it was nice to spend some time with them. I like having someone to talk to about baby things. I think it's cool that Ian and Jaxson are so close in age. It's going to get better the older they get. The holidays will get funner each year.

After we left there, it was time to go to Emmy's house and eat. I love turkey and dressing and mashed potatos. I could do without everything else and just fill up on that. Everything tasted so good, Emmy did a great job! She insist on cooking everything herself and won't let anyone bring anything.

When we got home, we feed Jaxson some cereal and then gave him a bath and put him to bed. He was worn out! Since Jaxson went to bed early, Mallori and Kevin stopped by and hung out with us for awhile.
Overall, we had a great Thanksgiving! We are so blessed and have so many things to be Thankful for this year. I am so Thankful for my sweet baby boy, my wonderful husband, our great families & great friends.

4 Months!

Jaxson Kole, you are 4 months old!

Here are some of things you are up to this month:

- You weigh 15 lbs 5 oz
- You are 24 1/2 inches long.
- You are wearing a size 2 diaper.
- You are still wearing size 3-6 month clothes.
- You are eating 5 oz every 3 hours during the day and 6 oz before bed. You are about to start cereal. I hope you like it! You are really becoming a chunk!

- You are still a wonderful sleeper and we pray it stays that way! You go to bed between 8:30 and 9:00 and I have been having to wake you up at 7:30 to get ready for daycare.
- You are starting to teeth. You constantly have your hands in your mouth and you drool all the time. They have to put a bib on you at daycare.
- You are trying to sit up and you can sit up on your own for a few seconds before you crash.

- You are very curious and love to see what is going on around you. When I rock you to sleep at night I have to put a blanket over your head or you won't go to sleep.

- You are still not rolling over, but I don't think it will be too much longer.
- You are really getting a personality. You smile all the time and you are starting to laugh out loud! I love it!
- You are grabbing for your toys so you can put them in your mouth. If anything touches your hands, it goes straight to your mouth.
- One of your favorite things to do is lay on a blanket on the floor and just look around and kick your legs and play. You could do that for hours.
- You are not a fussy baby and only cry if you are hungry or sleepy.

- You love Bailey and stare at him all the time.
- You are really starting to "talk". You make noises all the time. You have defiantly discovered your voice.
- You are still the sweetest little boy ever and love to cuddle when you are sleepy. You are getting very attached to mommy!

Jaxson, your daddy and I love you very much! These past 4 months have been the best ever! You are growing so quick and doing new things all the time. I tell your daddy, every night after I put you in bed, "I just love that little boy."

Weekend wrap-up a little late...

Brent left to go hunting Thursday afternoon so it was just me and little Jaxson for the weekend. Thursday night we went over to my parent's house for dinner and KayKay was there. We ate dinner, played on the floor with some toys, and then headed home early for a bath, bottle, and bed. I think Jaxson knew something was different since mommy gave him a bath instead of daddy because he did not want to go to sleep after his bottle. He got to stay up a little later than usual, but I enjoyed just rocking and loving on him!

Friday we got up and played around the house all morning. I could tell Jaxson was getting bored at home, so KayKay came over and we went to the mall and did some shopping! I didn't buy anything, but it was nice to just get out and look around. After shopping, we went to dinner with my parents and KayKay at George's. It was really good! I decided I would try to give Jaxson his bath at my parents house so we wouldn't have to go home so early, but I think it confused him. He did his normal bath and bottle routine, but decided when I laid him down that he would rather stay up and play than sleep. So when we got home, I had to give him another bottle to get him to fall asleep.

Saturday Emmy watched Jaxson while my mom and I did a little shopping. She got a new job at a bank so she needed to look for some new work clothes and things to wear. We started at TJ Maxx and she found some good stuff. Of course, I had to get something too! HA! After we finished up shopping, we picked Jaxson up then went to dinner at the Outback. I love their Alice Spring's Chicken and have been craving it for awhile. It was so yummy! After dinner, my dad went to play poker with the guys, so my mom and I headed to Target to do some more shopping. After we finished up there, my mom decided to come to my house and help give Jaxson his bath since he didn't do too well at her house the night before. We gave him a bath and bottle but he still didn't want to go to sleep! Finally around 10:30 after an hour of rocking, my mom got him to sleep. I don't know what got in to him, but he didn't want to go to bed early while daddy was gone.

Sunday Brent made it home around noon and we were so happy to see him! We missed him very much! After he got things unpacked and showered, we had a lazy day. We went and got Taco Bell for lunch and then all 3 of us took a long nap! It was nice to just hang out at home together. That night, we needed to go to Toys R Us to get some formula and exchange a few things. After we got home, Grandpa Bill and Grandma Betty came by for a little bit to see Jaxson. Brent gave Jaxson his bath, and I gave him his bottle and rocked him and he was asleep in 5 minutes! HA! He's so smart! He knows what he can get away with when daddy is gone!

Jaxson's 3 Month Pics

Check out Jaxson's 3 month pictures. They were taken by Dawn Lensing at 1000 Words by Dawn. She does a great job and got some sweet shots of Jaxson. I am going to have a hard time deciding which ones I like best.
